Tom Doyle
I am a life-long Michigan resident, husband, father, marathon runner, Spartan fan, and have been assisting clients with their estate plans for over 40 years.
I am the author of an estate planning video “How to Avoid the Six Most Common Estate Planning Mistakes”, and the publication Giving The Client What They Want, part of the Trusts and Estates Legal Strategies published by Aspatore Books in 2008.
I am a graduate of Thomas M. Cooley Law School, and have been an adjunct faculty member at Cooley where I taught Estate Planning, the Law of Cyberspace, and Computer Law.
I am, also, the continuing legal education instructor on estate planning and business succession planning for Farm Bureau Insurance Company, and have been an invited estate planning guest speaker for a number of companies, including Merrill Lynch and American Express, as well as churches, credit unions and financial advisors throughout Michigan.

I am originally from the Metro-Detroit area. Most of my family still lives there, so I try to make it home to catch a Detroit sporting event whenever I can.
I received my bachelor’s degree from Grand Valley State University. After graduating from GVSU, I decided to stay in West Michigan because I loved it so much. I attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School, and received my Juris Doctor. Tom was one of my professors in law school. I found myself in his estate planning class wanting to know so much more! So I completed my internship with his office and have been around ever since.
I enjoy spending time at the lakeshore or exploring downtown Grand Rapids. And I love cheering for the Wolverines – GO BLUE!
